Midland Road, Bristol – Brighter Places
A new landmark building in the up-and-coming Old Market Quarter, comprising 50 affordable units and two flexible-use units with a raised south-facing communal garden.
The scheme was developed in close conjunction with United Communities to meet the growing requirements for affordable housing in the area. To maximise the potential of the site, the larger mass of the flats wraps around the north and west boundary of the site, stepping towards the south, with a large courtyard space at the heart of the scheme.
Three generously-sized houses with bold brickwork patterning and roof gardens front Louisa Street, bringing the scale of the development on this frontage to a more domestic scale and allowing daylight to be maximised in the garden spaces.
