Midland Road, Old Market, Bristol – Autograph Homes and Curo Housing Assoc
Development of 32 new build apartments on Midland Road in the Old Market Quarter of Bristol. Existing unused buildings were demolished and residential accommodation comprising 1 and 2-bedroom flats and 3-bedroom maisonettes constructed.
The newly adopted Bristol Urban Living SPD standards were applied to the design, to provide an attractive, well-designed development with maximum opportunities to allow natural light and ventilation into circulation areas, child-friendly communal amenity spaces which meet the needs of the target resident profile
Dual aspect units allow sunlight into habitable spaces during the day. The scheme benefits from attractive and welcoming entrances and shared spaces. The site is in a very sustainable location close to the city centre of Bristol, with good transport links and facilities close by, including a primary school and shopping centre. The scheme was one of the first developments to be connected to the Bristol Heat Network.
