Grove House

Grove House, Bristol – Urban Creation

A series of projects carried out to improve facilities for users, including

  • Conversion of previous office building to provide apartments
  • Grade II Listed
  • Included extensions to provide additional accommodation

Following initial site analysis work, the Local Authority Conservation Officer, English Heritage and local amenity groups were consulted in order to identify and agree a restoration and reinstatement strategy for the building. A planning strategy was prepared to include the removal of early 20th Century additions, the re-ordering of the principal facades to balance the house visually, and the retention of important external features. NOMA obtained detailed Planning Consent and Listed Building Approval and prepared detailed drawings, specifications and Schedules of Work. The project was let as a Design and Build tender and NOMA were novated to the contractor for the construction stage.
