Trimbridge House, Bath – Ascentric
Refurbishment and external alterations, to include a new entrance
Within a conservation area, immediately adjacent to Grade II Listed St John’s Gatehouse
Trim Street is a scheduled ancient monument, situated on the line of the Roman wall that enclosed the Roman city of Bath. Built in 1970, Trimbridge House was, until 2010, the offices of Bath and North East Somerset Planning and Environmental Services Department. The refurbishment included replacing the existing aluminium sliding sash windows with a more contemporary style of window which maintained respect for the surrounding buildings. The unwelcoming and dated entrance canopy was replaced with a more sophisticated and eye-catching lightweight glazed version.
