Set against the green belt boundary and abutting the Hanham Hills on the edge of Longwell Green, the proposed development of this site initially drew considerable local opposition, in particular from the Chair of the local Council.

The development of 69 homes, a mixture of 1 and 2 bedroom flats and 2,3 and 4 bedroom houses comprised a variety of tenures including outright sale, shared ownership, market rent and affordable rent, and was designed to Code for Sustainable Homes.

The proposed design contained a mixture of local vernacular styles as well as more modern idiom housing in a HomeZone village setting. The houses and apartments have been hugely popular.
